AG: Toys R Us Gift Cards Valid Through April 15th

From the Office of the Attorney General NJ

TRENTON Toys”R”Us and Babies”R”Us officially announced plans to liquidate the inventory in all of its 735 US stores, including all of its stores in New Jersey. If you have a gift card to one of these stores, the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs urges you to use the gift card before April 15th. After this date, gift cards will be considered “unsecured debts” in the bankruptcy proceedings and the card may not be worth anything.

If you encounter any problems using a Toys”R”Us/Babies“R”Us gift card either at a retail location or online before the April 15th deadline, please contact the Division of Consumer Affairs’ Consumer Service Center at 973.648.6200 or through its website www.njconsumeraffairs.gov where you can file a complaint. The Division will use its best efforts to see that you are able to use the gift card before the April 15th deadline.
