Jackson Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

JACKSON-The Jackson Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect of a robbery which took place on Saturday July 14, 2018.

At approximately 11:20 pm, officers responded to the 7-11 located in the plaza at the intersection of Bennetts Mills Road and South Cooksbridge Road for a hold up alarm. As officers were responding, they were advised that there was a robbery in progress with the suspect brandishing a knife.

The suspect had fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival, possibly on foot toward the area of the Meridian Health Village located across South New Prospect Road from the 7-11. It was reported that the suspect had entered the store and demanded money from the cashier at knifepoint. He fled upon getting an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect (pictures included) was identified as a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white t-shirt underneath it, tan cargo pants and a dark colored ski mask. He was reported to be approximately 5’-11” with a slim build.

The suspect entered the store and walked directly to the cashier while producing a knife. He placed a backpack on the counter which he then placed the cash he stole inside of before he left the store. Officers checked the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect in this case is asked to contact Jackson Police Det. Scott Conover at 732-928-1111 or by leaving a tip through the department’s P3 Tips app.
