Couple Escapes Walmart on Motorized Shopping Carts

LACEY-A man and woman are being sought after stealing two motorized shopping carts from the Lanoka Harbor Walmart store.  The two were last seen traveling away from the scene of their crime at the approximately 5 mph top speed of the vehicles.

On Thursday, August 2, 2018, at 1:58 a.m., Officers Martin Julian and Dimitri Tsarnas responded to Walmart on Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report that a male and female were leaving the parking lot riding two Walmart motorized shopping carts heading west on Haines Street. The store manager was notified. The Loss Prevention Department will be checking surveillance footage. The value of the theft is estimated at $1000.
