Murphy Sacks Coronato, Names Criminal Defender as Prosecutor for Ocean County

TRENTON-As reported by Shore News Network several weeks ago, it is now official, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato has been replaced.

Coronato was forced by the Murphy administration to submit his resignation, which is effective on October 8th.

Murphy nominated Democrat criminal defense attorney Bradley Billhimer to replace Coronato.   Billhimer is expected to easily pass the Senate Judiciary Committee’s review.

Billhimer, 48, is a resident of Berkeley Township and has practiced criminal defense law for almost twenty years.  He was a former partner at the law firm of S. Karl Mohel, one of the county’s top criminal defense law firms.   The practice specializes in high profile criminal defense cases.

He unsuccessfully ran for public office twice in Ocean County, but lost each time.
