Berkeley Celebrates Italian Heritage Month

Submitted by Carmen Amato,
Mayor,  Berkeley Township

The Italian Flag Raising was held Saturday September 30th at Town Hall to recognize the month of October as Italian Heritage Month.

Councilman Keith Buscio, Councilman John Bacchione, Council President James Byrnes and I joined with members of the Holiday City / Silver Ridge Park Italian American Club as we presented them with a Proclamation.

Berkeley Township is home to one of the largest Italian American populations in Ocean County.

Berkeley Township recognizes October as Italian American Heritage Month and thank the generations of Italian Americans who have helped shape our society and steer the course of our history.

The flag will move to Veterans Park and fly there for the month of October.
