Holbrook Little League Advances to State Championship Tournament

TOMS RIVER-The Holbrook Little League baseball all-star team has made the New Jersey Little League final four after a 6-4 victory over Bordentown Little League to win the Section 3 tournament.   Holbrook is joined by Sparta Little League, Elmora Little League and Swedesboro-Woolrich Little League. The tournament will be hosted this year by Sayreville Little League.

In the Section 3 championship game, held at Toms River East Little League, Hoolbrook took a six run lead over Bordentown after two innings, but Bordentown clawed back over the next few innings, falling short.

Nicholas LoVacco go the win on the mound for Holbrook with Danny Hutchinson closing the game.   LoVacco pitched four innings, giving up 3 earned runs and striking out two.   Hutchinson struck out three.

Nick Sirico started things off for Holbrook in the second inning with a two-run single to right field scoring Mike Kisseberth and Jack Osmand.

Holbrook scored four runs in the third inning, on a grand slam home run by Donovan Louis-Jacques, driving in Max Rakestraw, Jack Strong and Kisseberth.

Bordentown managed to get within two runs by the sixth inning but ran out of steam.
