Toms River Council Seeks to Restrict Sale of E-Cigs, Ban on Plastic, Paper Bags

TOMS RIVER-On Tuesday, the Toms River Township Council seeks to impose restrictions on the sale of e-cigarette sales, according to an ordinance on the township meeting agenda.

According to the agenda document on file with the township, “ORDINANCE of the Township of Toms River, in the County of Ocean, New Jersey, amending and supplementing Chapter 462 (sale of tobacco products) of the township code to establish restrictions on the sale of electronic smoking devices.”

No further detail was provided.

Another resolution seeks to ban single use paper and plastic bags.

“RESOLUTION of the Township Council of the Township of Toms River, Ocean County, New Jersey, urging the Legislature and Governor to enact a law banning single-use plastic and paper bags,” the resolution reads.

The meeting will start at 6pm on the second floor in town hall.
