J.C. Penny Looking at Filing for Bankruptcy

Reuters today is reporting J.C. Penny could be the latest big business to fall during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Last week, AMC theaters inched closer to an official bankruptcy filing.

NEW YORK – J.C. Penney Co Inc is exploring filing for bankruptcy protection after the coronavirus pandemic forced the U.S. retailer to temporarily shut its 850 department stores, upending its turnaround plans, according to people familiar with the matter.
