Breaching Whale Landed on Boat off Jersey Shore

SEASIDE PARK, NJ – A breaching whale hit a boat off the coast of Seaside Park on Monday.   According to Friends of Seaside Park, a whale breached the surface and landed on a boat only a few dozen yards off D Street.

The boat eventually beached itself nearby. According to to both occupants, they are okay they were both thrown from the boat. The whale kept swimming and breaching.

“From our view, the whale is totally fine. Appeared to be a humpback,” Friends of Seaside Park said.  The incident happened around 11:50 am Monday afternoon.
