Only 27 People Remain on Ventilators in New Jersey No Recent Deaths Reported Since August 21st

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy today once again delivered good news.  Only 27 people in New Jersey remain on life-sustaining ventilators.   Also, no new deaths have been reported in New Jersey since August 21st.  Although the Governor rattles off daily deaths each morning, none of those recently reported deaths happened after August 21st.  After reporting the good news, Murphy went on today to memorialize those who died during the height of the pandemic individually.

The rate of transmission of COVID-19 in New Jersey is 0.85. When you factor in high rates of transmission in senior care facilities, long term care facilities and state-run veterans’ homes, the rate of transmission for the general public could be lower.

Here in Ocean County, 31 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours.
