Jersey Shore University Medical Center Ranked Among Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report

Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center was recently ranked the #6 top hospital in New Jersey for 2020-21, according to U.S. News & World Report.

“I’m extremely proud of our team members on receiving this important recognition,” said Vito Buccellato, MPA, LNHA, chief hospital executive, Jersey Shore University Medical Center. “We remain committed to providing our patients the most advanced care in the region.”

The academic medical center is also ranked as high performing in the nation in heart failure, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, nephrology, orthopedics, hip replacement, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Additionally, Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center is ranked #7 top hospital in the state and noted as high performing in five categories and Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center is recognized as high performing in three. “We continue to elevate the standard of health care in Monmouth and Ocean Counties,” said Kenneth N. Sable, M.D., MBA, FACEP, regional president, southern market. “The communities we serve should feel confident they have some of the best hospitals in the state to meet their health care needs locally.”

Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive health network, has four of its hospitals – Hackensack University Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center, and Riverview Medical Center ranked among the top hospitals in New Jersey.

For the 2020-21 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 16 specialties, 10 procedures and conditions. In the 16 specialty areas, 134 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized best regional hospitals based on high performing rankings across multiple areas of care.
