High Speed Pursuit in Stockton Yields Gun, but No Suspect

STOCKTON, CA –  On Tuesday, shortly after 1:00 am, Deputies Parker and Solorio encountered a reckless driver in the area of northbound Interstate 5, near Country Club Blvd. in Stockton.

They initiated a traffic stop, but the driver failed to yield and took off at a high rate of speed. A pursuit ensued, that led the deputies into a neighborhood off Quail Lakes and March Lane.

Sitting on the front seat was a loaded AR-15 style rifle with a forty round magazine, and no identification numbers. The weapon was immediately secured and a search for the driver followed, but he was not found.
The investigation is still ongoing to identify the driver. If you have any information regarding this incident, please call San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office at 209-468-4400.
