Watch: High Speed Chase Ends Badly for Palm Beach Drug Dealer

PALM BEACH, FL _ A Palm Beach County man is facing drug trafficking charges after refusing to pull over for a traffic stop in Martin County. It happened this afternoon on Florida’s Turnpike when the driver of an SUV, identified as 32-year old David Rashaun Hamil of West Palm Beach, took off at a high rate of speed to avoid the traffic stop. As he was fleeing, he ran right through a Martin County interdiction operation. Detectives taking part in the operation assisted the deputy by deploying tire deflation devices, but Hamil continued to run. Detectives then initiated a vehicle intervention technique to help him pull over. During the pursuit, detectives noticed that Hamil tossed something out of his vehicle. That object turned out to be a bag with 99-grams of Fentanyl, and 9.5 grams of crack cocaine. David Rashaun Hamil was taken to the Martin County Jail. He was charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl and Fleeing and Eluding.
