Fact Check: Was George Soros Arrested in Philadelphia for Election Interference?

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A viral news story claiming George Soros has been arrested in Philadelphia for election interference is blazing across social media today, but did it really happen?  A news report by “YourNewsWire” claims to show an indictment by the U.S. Attorney General’s Office in the Western District of Pennyslvania.  The story is false.  Soros was not arrested or charged and the indictment is a copy of a real indictment in October against Russian malware distributors with Soro’s name photoshopped over the names on the original indictment.  You can view the original ‘real’ indictment and the faked indictment below.

Actual indictment by U.S. Department of Justice.

Forged indictment published by fake news website.
