Gibsonton teen charged with murder for deadly hijacking at Murphy USA gas station

GIBSONTON, FL – Deleno Spencer Madariaga, 18, has been charged with first degree murder and robbery with a firearm.  On Monday, November 30, Madariaga was involved in a drug transaction at the Murphy USA gas station on Gibsonton Drive in Gibsonton when he shot and killed a man then drove off in the victim’s car. Madariaga was located Wednesday night.
“This shooting occurred in a very public setting. We are thankful that no one else was hurt. With the help of witnesses, we were able to quickly identify the suspect responsible. Our investigation is ongoing as we work to learn what lead up to this senseless act of violence,” the Hillsboro County Sheriff’s Department said.
