Jacksonville elderly abuse case now a murder case after 92-year-old victim died

JACKSONVILLE, FL – On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, patrol officers responded to a local hospital in reference to a report of potential elder abuse. An investigation was conducted by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Special Assault Unit and the suspect, Iris Kinamon, 65, was arrested for Aggravated Elderly Abuse. The suspect subsequently bonded out of jail.
On Saturday, November 21, 2020, the 92-year-old victim died as a result of her injuries. On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, the Medical Examiner’s Office classified the victim’s death as a homicide. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Iris Kinamon and she was subsequently arrested and charged with Murder in the Second Degree.
