OCALA, FL – Earlier this afternoon units responded to Sutton Place Apartments in reference to a 15-year-old male victim being struck by gunfire. Upon arrival, responding patrol officers performed life-saving measures to the victim until EMS arrived. The victim was then trauma alerted to a local hospital where he later succumbed to injuries sustained from the gunshot wound.
This is currently being investigated as a homicide and the investigation is active and ongoing with the OPD Major Crimes Unit. No suspects or further information at this time.
