Good samaritan helps extinguish home fire in Brick Township

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Thursday, firefighters from the Breton Woods Fire Company reported to a possible structure fire in the Midstreams section of Brick Township. firefighters arrived minutes later and confirmed a working fire.

The fire, according to the fire department, was upgraded to a second alarm fire bringing the township’s four fire companies to the scene.

Point Boro provided an RIT team and Point Beach provided coverage for the town. Prior to arrival, the resident was alerted by working smoke detectors and exited the building. Heavy fire conditions were found on the rear of the building.   A good samaritan had started extinguishing the fire with a garden hose, the department said. The fire department took over and completed extinguishment, searches, and overhaul. The scene was turned over and is being investigated by Brick Township Police Department and Brick Fire Safety Bureau.
