Arrest made in gruesome murder, dismemberment of San Antonio woman, Nicole Perry

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar tonight reported the grisly and gruesome murder of 31-year-old Nicole Perry in November.  Her accused murderer Rafael Castillo, 31, was arrested and brought in custody Wednesday evening.  The body of Ms. Perry was found on South WW White Road by workers cleaning an area well known for dumping.

The workers saw an unusual tarp and opened it to find the remains of Perry inside.  The medical examiner investigation learned the deceased was Nicole Perry.  Using evidence at the investigators determined subjects at 335 West Harlan Avenue was where the murder took place. Perry was one of several people at the residence.  Perry and Castillo had a disagreement and was attacked, killed and dismembered with a hatchet.

“It was really quite gruesome, she was partially dismembered while she was still alive,” Salazar said. “Her hands were cut off.”

Salazar said he believes other individuals are involved and the investigation will continue.

“They have to decide whether to be witnesses or defendants at this point,” he added.
