Petersburg sex offended left home, didn’t report new address to police

PETERSBURG, VA – A convicted sex offender in the Petersburg area forgot to let the police know where he moved to and now the police are more than interested in his new address as sex offenders are legally bound to report their address to the state when moving.  VSP Sex Offender Investigative Unit (SOIU) is seeking tips on the whereabouts of a convicted sex offender who was last living at a Dinwiddie County, VA  residence.

Charlton Leemon Evans, 45, is now wanted for failing to register with the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry.

Evans was living at an address on Ford Avenue in North Dinwiddie up until about a week ago. Evans is 5’11 in height and weighs approximately 175 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes and is believed to still be in the greater Petersburg area.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call State Police at (800) 552-9965. Tips may also be left on the registry’s website at www.sex-offender.vsp.virginia.gov . Tips can be left anonymously
