Collingswood man shot dead while driving through Camden, crashed into pole

Camden, N.J. – Detectives are investigating an early morning fatal shooting in Camden, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
Police responded to the 1800 block of S. 6th St. for a ShotSpotter activation around 6 a.m. When they arrived, they located a vehicle that had crashed into a pole with the driver inside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Michael Giancola, 24, of Collingswood. Detectives continue to investigate the events that led up to the shooting.
