Homicide detectives capture two suspects with help of community

SAN ANTONIO, TX – San Antonio homicide detectives today announced they have arrested two suspects in a brutal beating a 26-year old man last week. The department credited the help of the community’s efforts on social media to identify the pair.

On or around January 7, 2021, the victim, 26-year-old Cosmo Rodriguez was viciously assaulted on the 9500 block of Perrin Beitel. The assault was recorded, and the video was shared on the SAPD Facebook page. Through the exhaustive efforts of Homicide Detectives, arrests were made in this case. The pictured individuals, Zachary Wiatrek and Aurelio Elizondo were booked for Aggravated Assault Serious Bodily Injury.

“The assistance and support provided by our committed citizens and media are credited for the capture of these individuals,” the department said. “The victim survived his injuries. Additional charges may be filed.”
