Two New Jersey Men Kidnapped and Carjacked by Armed Gunmen

GLASSBORO, NJ – On Friday, January 8, 2021, at approximately 7:00am, officers from the Mantua Township Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call in a wooded area off of Barnsboro Road. The call was regarding two male subjects who were reporting they had been kidnapped at gunpoint from their Glassboro apartment. The victims had been transported to the Mantua site by their assailants in a vehicle owned by one of the victims which had been taken by force at the time of the home invasion. Both males were treated for injuries at Inspira Hospital in Mullica Hill. The stolen vehicle which departed from the Mantua location was located approximately two (2) hours later abandoned on a street in Monroe Township, Gloucester County.

Undertaking an intense and focused investigation, Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office detectives and the Glassboro Police Department identified two suspects, 19-year-old Glassboro resident

Blake P. Hartmann.  They were charged with robbery, kidnapping, burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, carjacking, and theft. A 43 year-old Glassboro resident, Larry Archer was charged with Hindering the Apprehension, Receiving Stolen Property, and Fencing Stolen Property.

All suspects are currently in custody and are being held pending detention hearings.
