4-year-old boy accidentally shoots 3-year-old sister with mom’s gun

COLUMBUS, OH –  A young girl is in stable condition after being shot by her older brother.  The girl, 3, was rushed to the hospital where she is reported in stable condition.  Columbus Police said in a statement, on January 15, 2021 at 3:07pm, Columbus Police officers responded to 1226 Parkview Dr. on the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located the 3-year-old girl suffering from a single gunshot wound.  The victim was subsequently transported to a local area hospital in stable condition.  It was later learned that the victim and her 4-year-old brother had obtained possession of their mother’s unsecured firearm and a single gunshot was discharged, striking the victim. This incident is still under investigation.
