Baltimore Police Make Arrest for June Murder of Gerald Jones

BALTIMORE, MD – On June 8, 2020, officers responded to a shot spotter alert in the area of the 1400 block of Orleans Street. Upon arrival, officers located 30 year-old Gerald Jones of the 1500 block of May Court, sitting in his vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Jones was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he died a short time later.

Homicide detectives investigated this murder and were ultimately able to identify the suspect and obtain an arrest warrant.

On January 16, 2021 at approximately 8:50 p.m., detectives arrested 35 year-old Troy Veney of the 1000 block of N. Broadway in the 200 block of N. Caroline Street. Veney was transported to Central Booking where he has been officially charged with the 1st degree murder of Gerald Jones. Veney is being held without bail.
