Employees evacuated at 1 million square foot New Jersey Amazon warehouse

CRANBURY, NJ – On Tuesday, over 100 employees of Amazon’s Cranbury distribution warehouse, a nearly one million square foot facility were evacuated when a fire broke out inside at around 11 pm. Smoke filled the building as alarms sounded and employees evacuated.   Firefighters were on scene until 2 am, but the fire was extinguished quickly after the arrival of firefighters.

“We can confirm that there was a fire at our fulfillment center in Cranbury,” Amazon spokeswoman Jenna Hilzenrath said. “There’s nothing more important than the health and safety of our employees and we’re grateful that all our employees are safe and accounted for. We thank our local fire department for their quick response.”
