Body of 70 year old man wanted for double murder found in Reelfoot Lake

OBION COUNTY, TN – A 70-year-old man wanted by police for the double murder of Chance Black and Zack Grooms has been found a short distance away from where police found the two men last Monday.  His body was discovered on Saturday.

According to District Attorney Tommy Thomas, the body of murder suspect David Vowell was located in Reelfoot Lake in the afternoon.  Thomas says that the body of Vowell has been positively identified, adding that the body will be sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Vowell was the suspect in the deadly double shooting on Reelfoot Lake in Obion County that left Zack Grooms and Chance Black deceased. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the body was located near the location where the incident occurred. Arrest warrants were filed for the arrest of Vowell on two counts of First Degree Murder last week.
