Traffic stop leads to drug charges, DUI in Vigo County

Vigo County, IN  – January 29, 2021, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Trooper Brad Fyfe was patrolling on Interstate 70 near the nine-mile marker, when he stopped a semi-tractor trailer for unsafe lane movement.  The driver was identified as Chad H. Bowman, age 44, of Amargosa Valley, Nevada.  Suspicious activity was detected, and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  Trooper Fyfe located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  Further investigation by Trooper Fyfe also revealed that Bowman displayed signs of impairment.  Bowman agreed to submit to a certified test and failed.  Bowman was arrested and taken to the Vigo County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.

Arrested and Charges:  Chad H. Bowman, 44, Nevada

  • Possession of methamphetamine, Felony 6
  • Possession of paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor
  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, Class A Misdemeanor
  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, Class C misdemeanor

All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
