Black Male Teenager Charged for Raping Woman, Kidnapping, Car Jacking in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA – On Saturday, January 30th, 2021, at approximately 8:03 AM, an adult female arrived at the Bakersfield Police Department advising she was the victim of a sexual assault. The victim, being a Good Samaritan, drove the suspect to Bakersfield after the suspect crashed his vehicle on Highway 99. Once arriving to the City of Bakersfield, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The suspect was described as a black male teenager.

The California Highway Patrol located the suspect vehicle near Highway 99 and Interstate 5 and seized the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle was determined to be stolen during a carjacking in Los Angeles Police Department jurisdiction. Special Victims Unit Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.

During the course of the investigation, the suspect was located at the Valley Plaza at approximately 11:34 AM and taken into custody without incident. Due to the suspect’s age, his name is not being released at this time. The juvenile offender is charged with sexual assault, robbery, carjacking, false imprisonment, kidnapping, aggravated assault, criminal threats and providing false information to police.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
