Rite Aid apologizes after denying undocumented immigrants COVID-19 vaccines

Los Angeles, CA – via Fox News – Rite Aid has apologized after denying two illegal immigrants COVID-19 vaccines when they could not provide a social security number or other identification required by all Americans to get the vaccine.

“In such an unprecedented rollout, there are going to be mistakes and there will be always areas for providers to improve — we’re seeking out those opportunities every day.”

Rite Aid said in a statement to FOX Business.

“Today my mom was denied the covid-19 vaccine because she is undocumented. @riteaid asked for her social security and the woman at the front kept stating that they were not vaccinating people who are UNDOCUMENTED. my mom was literally sobbing and I’m literally appalled,” said Sebastian Araujo.

The undocumented women showed their Rite Aid pharmacy foreign identification cards. The incident happened in San Fernando Valley, California. The two women were denied vaccinations in two separate incidents.

“[Rite Aid] asked for her social security and the woman at the front kept stating that they were not vaccinating people who are UNDOCUMENTED. my mom was literally sobbing and I’m literally appalled,” Araujo tweeted.

Rite Aid reached out to Araujo and notified him that his mother can get the vaccine.
