Capitol rioter fascinated by Hitler ordered to be held in jail until trial

U.S. Naval contractor Timothy Hale Cusanelli, who was arrested for his role in the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol Building has been ordered to be held in jail until his trial.

The judge presiding over the hearing, U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden raised concerns over Cusanelli’s past history of anti-Semitism and violence.

Although New Jersey, under the Bail Reform Act allows for pretrial release, the case is being heard in federal court and New Jersey’s bail reform, release is at the discretion of the court.

Cusanelli was ordered to be remanded in jail as Judge McFadden determined his release could be a risk to the public.
