COLUMBUS, OH – A Columbus Police Officer saved the life of one of two street gunfight combatants on Saturday. Police said Officer Nathan Hargus helped to save the life of a shooting victim and suspect this weekend.
On March 20th, 2021 at 12:19am, 23-year-old Ivan Netter and 44-year-old Tushawn Hunt, who are both acquaintances, were at the Marathon Gas Station at 744 E. Hudson St.
An argument ensued which devolved into a gunfight. Both combatants produced handguns and began firing at each other. Hunt received a gunshot wound to his back.
He was able to drive away and was self-transported to OSU Wexner Medical Center.
Netter received a gunshot wound to the chest which pierced his lung which made him unable to breathe. Officer Nathan Hargus responded to the call and found Netter bleeding profusely and unable to breathe. Officer Hargus rendered first aid to Netter which prevented him from suffocating. Netter is currently in critical condition at Riverside Hospital.
