Man robbed at gunpoint outside Toms River Wawa

TOMS RIVER, NJ – According to the Toms River Police Department, two men robbed a man at gunpoint who getting on his bike outside of the Route 37 and Hooper Avenue WaWa.

The armed robbery occurred early Tuesday morning. Police said a male approached Officer Tyler Pinto as he pulled into the parking lot at WAWA on Route 37 and Hooper Ave.

“The victim advised Officer Pinto that moments earlier he was robbed while attempting to get on his bicycle outside of the store,” the department said. “He stated a handgun was shown as two male suspects robbed him before leaving the area.”

A police investigation revealed an interaction between the three men did take place outside the store prior to the officers arrival, there was no incident inside the store. The incident remains under investigation.
