Ocean County Commissioners removing blue line painted overnight in Downtown Toms River

TOMS RIVER- After a blue line appeared overnight in Downtown Toms River between the solid yellow lines on Hooper Avenue, county officials are now working to remove it.

Ocean County Commissioners Virginia Haines and Gary Quinn had turned down Sheriff Michael Mastronardy’s request last week to have the county paint the blue line. Instead, Quinn offered a ‘line’ of police flags.

Overnight, somebody took it upon themselves to paint the line down the center of Hooper Avenue outside of the Ocean County Justice Complex.

By noon, county crews had blocked off the road and began removing the blue line.
