14-year-old carjacked woman in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – On Wednesday at 9:08 pm, a 36-year-old woman was sitting in the driver’s seat of her vehicle. The vehicle was parked in front of her home on the city’s east side.

A 14-year-old male approached the victim’s vehicle, opened the driver’s side door, and ordered her out of the vehicle.

The 14-year-old pulled the victim out of the vehicle and to the ground then fled in her vehicle. Patrol officers were in the area and located the vehicle.

The officers attempted a traffic stop at Courtright Rd. and Refugee Rd. where the 14-year-old fled from officers. Officers pursued the vehicle to the area of New Village and Meridian Rd. where the vehicle hit a fire hydrant and was disabled. The 14-year-old fled on foot but was apprehended by the patrol officers and charged with Robbery, Kidnapping, Failure to Comply with an Officers order or signal.
