10-Year-Old shot while sleeping in bed during a drive-by shooting of his home

COLUMBUS, OH – A 10-year-old boy was shot while sleeping in his bed in Columbus overnight. The boy was asleep when his home was targeted by a drive-by shooter, police say.

At 12:17am, patrol officers responded to 2255 Hanna Dr. on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers observed the 10-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The victim was inside his bedroom when multiple gunshots were fired into the home from a vehicle that was driving by.

The victim was struck once by the gunshots and transported to a local area hospital in critical condition, but was later upgraded to stable condition.
