Evicted man charged for gun possession

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – On April 12, 2021, a man trespassing in an apartment building was arrested with a loaded handgun. At 9:04 am, Officers Auttika Taing and Corey Treadway responded to the Lighthouse Plaza Apartments located in the 300 block of Atlantic Avenue for a man that was trespassing.

Oscar Euceda was not a resident of the apartment building and had previously been evicted. Officers Taing and Treadway found Euceda in the laundry room on the 18th floor of the building.

Euceda was attempting to hide behind a washing machine. The officers asked Euceda to exit the laundry room and speak with them. Euceda refused, would not cooperate and turned away from the officers.

The officers moved in, detained Euceda and attempted to speak with him. Euceda refused to remove his hand from his pant pocket. After removing his hand, officers located a loaded handgun.

Euceda was arrested without incident.
