Summit County sheriff’s K-9 passes

Akron, OH – Anna, a 7-year-old Labrador retriever who worked the drug sniffing beat at the Akron-Canton Airport has passed away.

“We lost one of our own today. K-9 Deputy Anna passed away this morning due to an illness,” the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said. “Anna was a seven-year-old yellow lab who was trained to detect explosives. She was originally from Columbia, and was trained by a world renowned trainer in Canada before joining our team.”

If you’ve flown out of the Akron-Canton Airport, you’ve perhaps seen Anna with deputies there.
