Man shot dead in cold blood inside a convenience store

MACON, GA – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred at the Chevron located at 584 Emery Highway just before 10:00 p.m.

It was reported that 27-year-old Greg Lamar Watkins Jr., was fatally wounded by an individual as he was standing inside of the convenience store. No one else was reported injured during this incident.

Watkins was transported to the Coliseum Medical Center by personal vehicle. He was pronounced deceased by the Bibb County Coroner. The next of kin has been notified.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators are seeking an individual described as a black male, wearing a white t-shirt, camouflage pants, and white shoes.
