Gulf County Sheriff’s Office deputy crashed into gas station in Highland View

HIGHLAND VIEW, FL – A Gulf County Sheriff’s Deputy ended up in a bad situation after crashing into a gas station on Friday.

According to the department, the deputy was involved in a traffic crash on US 98 at the SunStop in Highland View. The deputy was traveling in the westbound lane, towards WindMark from Port St. Joe, when the driver of a box truck, traveling in the eastbound lane, turned in front of him.

The deputy tried to avoid the collision, but struck the front of the box truck and collided with the store’s fuel pump. No one was injured. The Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash and determined the driver of the box truck failed to yield the right-of-way.
