Seaside Park hires first full-time female police officer

SEASIDE PARK, NJ – In an evening filled with police department promotions, the Seaside Park Police Department made a historical hire. On Thursday, the department hired their first-ever full-time female police officer.

Alyssa Stilton, 23, is a Toms River High School South graduate who attended the Ocean County Police Academy and has been working as a special officer for the borough for several years. Last night, the mayor and council promoted Stilton to a full-time patrolman.

“Officer Stilton is the first full time female police officer in Seaside Park history,” the Seaside Police Department said.

The department also awarded promotions to Patrolman Casole to the rank of Sergeant, Sergeant McKay to the rank of Lieutenant, Sergeant Fitzgerald to the rank of Lieutenant, and Patrolman Jackowski to the rank of Sergeant.
