Man arrested for 2020 Sayre baby murder

BECKHAM COUNTY, Okla. – 30-year-old Taylor Lambert was arrested in connection with the death of a one-year-old. On November 14, 2020, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) was requested by the Sayre Police Department to investigate after the suspicious death of Kashton Ashley that same day. Autopsy results showed the baby’s death was the result of a homicide. Lambert was the boyfriend of Kashton’s mother at the time of his death.
 
A felony arrest warrant was issued for Lambert for one charge of Murder in the First Degree – Child Abuse. Sayre police officers and Department of Wildlife Game Wardens took him into custody without incident at the Sayer Police Department. Lambert was transported to the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office where he will remain until he is arraigned.
