Ned Lamont, the governor of Connecticut has announced his state will cease requiring residents to wear face masks in public spaces indoors and outdoors effective May 19th. The announcement comes after CDC guidance comes after the CDC and President Joe Biden agreed that the science behind the vaccines and the COVID-19 virus allows for Americans to unmask once they have been fully vaccinated.
“If you’re fully vaccinated, you don’t have to wear a mask. If you’re not fully vaccinated, you’ve got to wear a mask indoors,” Lamont said. “I hope that people in Connecticut understand why the CDC set those guidelines. They probably make a certain amount of sense, and I think the vast majority of people will follow that.”
In Connecticut, masks will be required in airplanes, buses, trains, hospitals, schools, and nursing homes.
