Police investigating murder suicide in League City

LEAGUE CITY, TX – League City Police Department is investigating the death of two people in the 400 block of Westwood Dr in an apparent murder-suicide. On May 12, 2021, at approximately 10:07 PM, officers responded to a reported home invasion in the 400 block of Westwood Dr, League City. When officers arrived, they found 35-year-old, Erica Rene Allen dead in the front yard of a home.

Witnesses stated that they saw Erica Allen’s husband, 40-year-old, Nicholas Allen, shoot her and then go back into his home. Officers were unable to establish contact with Nicholas Allen and secured the home until the tactical team arrived.

At approximately 1:33 AM, the tactical team made entry into the home and located the Allen’s two children, ages 7 and 2, unharmed. Nicholas Allen was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation determined that the initial call of a home invasion was untruthful, and the incident stemmed from a domestic problem. Investigators are still on the scene at this time.
