Hillsborough Fire Rescue contained wild brush fire before spreading

LITHIA, FL – A fire has been contained and knocked down with no injuries or structural damage reported according to the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

Crews spent several hours putting out hotspots and have set up a watch of this area to prevent any major flare ups during the night. HCFR worked alongside Florida Forest Service to contain an approximately 30-acre brush fire west of the Lithia area, and east of Balm-Riverview Rd. Crews worked to make sure power lines and one structure in the area were protected.

“Dry weather conditions make brush fires especially dangerous this time of year,” the HCFR said.
