When Grietje was pregnant, her cockatoo was thrilled. He laid on her tummy as if trying to protect his egg. When the baby was born though, Marni became jealous of the new baby. Slowly he realized that baby Remi wasn’t going anywhere and he became glued to his side. They became forever friends.
When the baby takes a bath, Marni hangs out on the bathtub. When the baby plays, Marni is hanging right along side of him. The three travel everywhere together. Cockatoo’s have a very long life span that includes many decades. When Remi grows up he will be able to help care for the cockatoo.
