Teen killed in Barnegat Bay pontoon boat crash

TOMS RIVER, NJ – One person, an 18-year-old passenger was killed in a pontoon boat crash on the Barnegat Bay near the Route 37 bridge in Toms River on Sunday.

New Jersey State Police say four others were injured when the boat struck a marker in the vicinity of the Route 37 bridges. Two of the five people aboard the watercraft were ejected from the boat, but were able to safely swim back. according to Trooper Sgt. Alejandro Goez.

An 18-year-old victim was airlifter to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune and pronounced dead.
