Lakehurst stop nets drug charges for Monmouth pair

LAKEHURST, NJ – The Lakehurst Police Department arrested Beatrice Rein, 54, of Hazlet, NJ, and Paul Rein 54 of Keansburg, NJ.

On June 16, 2021 at approximately 9:44 PM, Officer Anthony Florio conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle that was being operated by Paul Rein with Beatrice Rein as the passenger. During the stop, Officers observed in plain sight, drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

An on-scene investigation involving a search of the vehicle, driver, and passenger, resulted in the discovery of Paul Rein being in possession of suspected heroin, and Beatrice Rein being in possession of a crack pipe. Officers located additional drug paraphernalia throughout the vehicle. Both were placed under arrest without incident. Paul Rein was charged with Possession of CDS and Possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for Maintenance of Lamps, No front license plate, Expired Inspection, Failure to Maintain Lane, Expired Drivers License, Suspended Drivers License, Failure to Possess Driver License, Failure to Possess Registration, Failure to Possess Insurance Card, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. Beatrice Rein was charged with Possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released with a summons pending a mandatory court appearance. Officer Gavin Cecchini and Officer Harry Paul were on scene to assist.
