WICOMICO, MD – On 26 June 2021 at 8:00 PM, a deputy responded to a report of an individual siting in a parked vehicle in the 700 block of South Westover Drive who was reportedly armed with a gun.

Upon arrival the deputy located the vehicle in question and approached the operator, later identified as Terrance J. Ward. During the ensuing investigation, the deputy observed in plain view in the vehicle what would be identified as a 9mm semi-automatic pistol with an extended 30 round magazine.

Inspection of the weapon revealed that it had a round chambered and it was ready to fire. The deputy placed Ward under arrest for the firearm and then continued a search of Ward’s vehicle. During that search the deputy located both Cocaine and Crack Cocaine. The amount and manner of packaging was indicative of an intent to distribute. Additional investigation of Ward revealed that he was prohibited from possessing a regulated firearm due to a previous criminal conviction.

Ward was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Ward in the Detention Center without bond.
