The Gulf of Mexico was on fire after pipeline ruptured

A gas pipeline off the Gulf of Mexico ruptured and caught fire, creating what is being called an “eye of fire”. The fire took more than five hours to extinguish. There were no injuries reported during the fire which was reported around 5:15 am local time on Friday. It was put out by 10:30 am. Mexican safety regulators said the pipeline did not produce an oil spill. It is suspected that a ‘passing electrical storm’ caused the fire.
